Grocery South

Hello, and welcome back to The Sing Oil Blog!  As I mentioned in my anniversary post, I decided to change things up this year and start a Substack feed.  As my mission of documenting former Sing Oil Company stations draws to a close, I felt like my current branding was confusing to new readers who weren't looking for gas station goodies.

That's why I created Grocery South, a feed dedicated to the past and present of grocery stores in the Southeast.  If you have liked my content in the past, I think that you will love what is to come.  Make sure to subscribe to catch all of my latest posts!

My first post goes live today, and it is the debut of Marketplace Madness 2026: Somebody Else's Cart.  I dive deep into the history of Harveys Supermarkets and how the old store in McRae-Helenea, Georgia, came to be.  You won't want to miss it!

Don't worry, The Sing Oil Blog isn't going away, either.  I'll continue to post updates on old Sing Stores here in addition to maintaining my More Than Convenience directory page.

See you there,
